What I did this week (Week 53)
08/14/2024
Writing to you from Denver, Colorado.
To b completely honest, I don’t have much to tell you this week. I completed my 2nd 14-day roll on the Falls fire in Oregon.
In total, I spent 26 days on shift on that fire.
The 11th was my last working day, and I flew back to Denver on the 12th.
The past week was extremely uneventful.
I’m happy to be home to take a little break.
At the moment I’m pretty tired, so I’m going to keep this short.
I’ll update you with another post about the positive experiences I had while I was at the Falls fire. There are plenty of good things to share and lessons to take from it, but I’d prefer to explain it all to you when my mind is functioning properly.
For now, I’ll tell you the most obvious lesson I learned…Humans are meant to sleep at night.
I’ll only be home for a little bit. I’ve got a few small things I’d like to get done, then there’s a good chance that I’ll head out to one or two more fires before the season is over. Hopefu…
