What I did this week (Week 22)
Ranch work
Things are steadily picking up around here after the holidays. There have been regular chores to do, but I’ve also been able to learn yet another skill from our casero.
A new skill
One of the houses on our property was built in 1869 and its fence was in dire need of repair. If we kept any sheep in that area they would have made their way through the loose wire and out onto the road. In fact, some sheep were able to escape through the fences just next to the house.
It was time to take the fence down.
A week before the holidays, our casero did just that. He started putting up the fence early this week. I asked him if I could help. I wanted to learn how to build/fix fences. We spent a few hours at the end of each day digging holes for the fence posts, stringing the wire up, anchoring the wire, and fixing loose wire on the fence next to the house.
